A miniature gourmet salad green that is one of the most sought after early spring greens. Broad dark-green leaves from rosettes which may be harvested continuously. The texture is soft and buttery. the flavor is delicate with a hint of nut and mint.
Plant: Select sunny to partly shady, well drained location and sow seed in late spring or late summer for a fall harvest. For an earlier harvest, plant plats or cold frames 2-4 weeks before transplanting outdoors or raise maturity in the trays. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, fertilize with vegetable food and smooth with rake. Firm soil over and keep moist.
Care: Thrives in cool weather. Harvest by cutting plants just above the soil level when the rosettes are 3" across.
