This special mild-flavored blend of lettuces and greens is a complete salad in one seed packet. Because they should be harvested when young and tender, successive planting is key to always having something to fill the salad bowl. If you have never grown Mesclun, you have a great adventure ahead of you. Plants are easy and attractive to grow in gardens or containers.

Plant: Direct seed as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Repeat at 2 week intervals until late spring. Sow again in late summer and fall. Plant in rows or broadcast in a section of the garden. Keep area weed free.

Care: Water regularly and fertilize when 3" (7.5cm) tall. Provide light shade for late spring and summer sowings.

Harvest: Harvest with scissors. Snip the leaves about 1/2-1" (1.5-2.5cm) above the soil line when 4-6" (10-15cm) tall. Many varieties are cut-and-come again, so will re-sprout and grow again, or just cut above the surface and reseed.
