Produces acorn shaped fruits that are roughly 6" in diameter. Hard dark green shells with pale yellow sweet flesh. Delicious in pies or cut into serving-size pieces and baked, steamed, broiled, or mashed.Seed
Plant: Direct seed at about the frost free date into rich, fertile soil. Usually sown in groups of 4-6 seeds and thinned to the 2 strongest plants per group.
Care: Water regularly and fertilize when lateral runners begin to spread.
Harvest: Shortly before fall frost cut from plant, leaving a portion of stem attached. Skin should be dark green and firm.
