Slightly warted fruits have a bronze- green rind. Large fruits that average 12" long. Flesh is orange-yellow, very thick,dry and sweet. An outstanding winter vegetable easy to grow and prolific. Plant: Direct seed at about the frost free date into rich, fertile soil. Usually sown in groups of 4-6 seeds and thinned to the 2 strongest plants per group.
Care: Water regularly and fertilize when lateral runners begin to spread.
Harvest: Shortly before fall frost cut from plant, leaving a portion of stem attached. Skin should be dark green and firm.
