Heads are large, dark green and solid. The deeply cut leaves are high in flavor and texture. Withstands hot, dry conditions. For best flavor and development of firm heads, time crops to mature during cool weather.

Plant: Direct seed as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Repeat at 2 week intervals until late spring. Sow again in late summer and fall.

Care: Water regularly and fertilize when 3" (7.5cm) tall. Provide light shade for late spring and summer sowings.

Harvest: Pick outer leaves as needed. Center leaves form a loose head which is harvested by cutting entire plant.
