Pkt (≈ 10 seeds)
These freshly harvested buds are sweet and delicate tasting with a tender texture. The "Globe" is the flower bud which includes many edible parts: freshly bases of the outer bracts, the receptable, the inner bracts, and portions of the floral stem. Artichokes are very ornamental in the garden. Their gray-green leaves contrast well with other plants.
When and where to plant: In zones 6 and colder start seeds indoors in February and transplant to the garden about the time of the last frost. In zone 7 and warmer direct seed in the garden. Plant in a sunny, well drained location with rich soil.
Care: Keep soil moist, weed free, and apply vegetable food for every 4 weeks.
