Extremely round uniform beets. Very smooth skin & dark red interior. Can be eaten at all stages of growth, the young leaves make flavorful greens. Beets are easy to grow, but prefer a cool well drained space.
When and Where to Plant: Sow seeds every 3 weeks in a sunny area, with fertile, well drained soil. Beets can also be grown in containers.
Care: Provide regular, uniform moisture to keep plants growing. Thin plants to prevent overcrowding. Apply vegetable food every 4 weeks.
Harvest: Pull up clumps when roots are 2" (5cm) across.
Your Health: Greens are an excellent source of potassium and vitamins A & C. Roots a good source of fiber.
