The tender, light green leaves of this loose-leaf variety have a distinctive lobed, oak-leaf shape. The unique shape and mild flavor make it a great addition to salads. As the outer leaves are picked, plants continue producing tender new leaves. Comes into production early and resists heat well. Grows well in containers.
Plant: Direct seed as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Repeat at 2 week intervals until late spring. Sow again in late summer and fall.
Care: Water regularly and fertilize when 3" (7.5cm) tall. Provide light shade for late spring and summer sowings.
Harvest: Pick leaves anytime as needed, but before they yellow or reach size of your hand; or cut entire plant.
Your Health: Rich in fiber and potassium, with moderate amount of vitamin A.
