Representing a new generation of garden peas, Sugar Snap is a winner of the prestigious All American Selections Gold Medal. Crisp, crunchy and delicious, it's eaten whole - pods and peas - when pods are plump and round. Serve fresh in salads, with dip, stir fried or steamed. Good for freezing. Grows best in cool weather.
Plant: Plants grow best if seeds are treated with inoculant before sowing. Plant only into well drained soil. Direct seed as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. Replant at 3 week intervals until mid-spring.
Care: Provide support for tall growing varieties. Water by soaking soil to reduce danger of disease.
Harvest: Pick when the pod color just begins to fade and the seeds are plump but not hard. Hold vine while picking to avoid damaging it.
Your Health: A good source of minerals and vitamins A, B1, B2, Niacin and C.
