Celeriac, a nutty flavored root crop, may be used in salads, soups, or stews. Easy to grow, the roots are ready to eat when 2 inches or more in diameter.
Plant:Transplant to a sunny, well drained location in the late spring after the soil has warmed. Seed may be sown in the open after danger of frost has passed. Sow seed 1/16" deep.
Care: Water as needed by soaking around plants.
Harvest: When cold weather approaches, pull plants cut off the roots, and store in a cellar for winter use.
Your Health: Contains many poly-acetylene anti-oxidants, vitamin K, phosphorus, iron, calcium, copper, and manganese, and vitamin C.
