Here's a dual-purpose cucumber. Ideal for pickling with its small, blocky fruit and tender skin. However, if allowed to reach full size, they can be used fresh as slicing cucumbers. This warm-weather vegetable is easy to grow and a vigorous producer.
Plant: Sow seed directly into loose, fertile soil after weather has warmed. For an earlier start, sow seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost. For best results, loosen and improve soil with organic material.
Care: Water generously and fertilize monthly. Best if grown on a strong trellis support.
Harvest: Pick regularly and before fruit color begins to turn yellow. Pick often so plant will continue to produce.
Your Health: Low in calories, supplies some vitamins and minerals.
