An exceedingly popular table vegetable that is unmatched for vitamin content and sweet flavor. It is adaptable, tolerant of mismanagement and unequaled for supplying food for a long period of time. Sweet crisp. Dark orange 7-8" long roots. Needs deep well worked soil.
Plant: Seeds are tiny and should be sown directly in the garden beginning early in the spring with just enough soil to anchor them. Loose fertile soil is best. Successive plantings can be made every 2-3 weeks.
Care: Keep moist, and don't allow soil to crust before seedlings emerge. Thin young seedlings, and fertilize when 3" (7.5cm) tall.
Harvest: Pull when carrots are sufficient size and color.
Your Health: Good source of fiber, potassium and vitamin A.
