AAS Winner, this immense variety is often a prizewinner in pumpkin contests. When properly nurtured, an individual fruit can exceed 100 lbs (45kg). Fruits have pink-orange, ribbed skin. The flesh is yellow-orange, intensely flavored and fine for pies and cooking. Seeds make a delicious and nutritious snack.
Plant: Direct seed at about the frost free date into rich, fertile soil. Usually sown into "hills" of 4-6 seeds and thinned to the 2 strongest plants per hill.
Care: Water regularly and fertilize when lateral runners begin to spread.
Harvest: In Autumn, when skin is hard, cut from zine with a 3"(7.5cm) piece of stem attached.
Your Health: Rich in vitamin A and supplies some minerals.
