Here's a sweet, juicy cantaloupe, featuring salmon-orange flesh and yellow-green rind. Individual melons are large and slightly oval,averaging around 5 pounds. They are also very fragrant, lending credence to cantaloupes other name: muskmelon. Like all melons, heat and an adequate growing season are not needed.
When and Where to Plant:Sow seeds in a warm, open, sunny location in spring once the soil has warmed. Seeds can also be started indoors 4-5 weeks earlier. Plant in fertile soil in "hills" of 2-3 seedlings each.
Care: Water in dry weather and fertilize when 3" (7.5cm) tall.
Harvest: Melons slip from the vine when ripe with a slight pull.
